{"id":475,"date":"2012-07-20T12:36:43","date_gmt":"2012-07-20T17:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bluntforcememory.com\/blog\/?p=475"},"modified":"2012-07-20T12:37:35","modified_gmt":"2012-07-20T17:37:35","slug":"good-luck-with-that-wow-its-been-a-while","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bluntforcememory.com\/blog\/?p=475","title":{"rendered":"Good Luck With That (wow, it&#8217;s been a while)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t know who is going to take the trophy in November. \u00a0I know it probably won&#8217;t be the person I vote for. \u00a0All I know is that the game winner is going to have one hell of a lot of problems to deal with.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like we&#8217;re heading into recession again. \u00a0Unemployment is up in 27 states this month. \u00a0The Fed has a dire outlook and insists Congress do something fast. \u00a0Housing cannot get any traction. \u00a0Wall Street is still completely out of control. \u00a0Gas is $3.50 per gallon. \u00a0We have a drought that has not been this bad in half a century. \u00a0Europe is in worse shape than we are.<\/p>\n<p>We, and others, are in a shadow war with Iran. \u00a0The war drums are pounding louder all the time. \u00a0It seems only a matter of time before it escalates into full blown war. \u00a0We cannot afford this and I am not talking money. \u00a0<strong>Our service men and women are killing themselves in unprecedented numbers.<\/strong> \u00a0Our out of control government has forced this issue by letting the Iraq and Afghanistan wars go on far too long and not giving our people time to come home, rest, rejuvenate and relive what it&#8217;s like to be with family and friends (and get to take more than a two-minute cold shower every two weeks). \u00a0And beyond Iran, what about Syria? \u00a0Are we headed there also?<\/p>\n<p>When 2014 rolls around, it is said that 30 million more people will have health care. \u00a0That&#8217;s <em>30 million<\/em> more people who need to see primary physicians. \u00a0We have a shortage of primary physicians\u00a0<strong>today<\/strong>. \u00a0What happens when you dump <em><strong>30 million<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0more people into the system without any planning for the obvious shortage? \u00a0This is going to rock our health care system. \u00a0If there is some sort of plan for how this is to be dealt with, it certainly has not been communicated to us at all.<\/p>\n<p>Those are some major things that will have to be dealt with. \u00a0Those are things that we ourselves created and are aware of. \u00a0Now, of course, there is something else to throw into the mix. \u00a0What happens if we have another massive natural disaster like Katrina? \u00a0What if we have another terrorist attack like 9\/11? \u00a0What if we have both? \u00a0We cannot plan for the unseen, folks. \u00a0That is why it is all the more important to deal with the issues we know <strong>we have at hand<\/strong>. \u00a0And yet, all we seem to have is the &#8220;do-nothing &lt;fill in the blank&gt;&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re less than four months away from some team&#8217;s victory. \u00a0Less than six months from either four-more-years or four years of something else. \u00a0Regardless of which team wins, you can be sure they&#8217;ll be throwing high-fives and slapping butts. \u00a0The question is, will the spectators be wondering what all the partying is about or jumping up and down in unison?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t know who is going to take the trophy in November. \u00a0I know it probably won&#8217;t be the person I vote for. \u00a0All I know is that the game winner is going to have one hell of a lot of problems to deal with.
