The subtitle of this blog is \u201cLook. Listen. Learn.\u201d\u00a0 This by no means suggests that the reader should look at me, listen to me or learn from me.\u00a0 I\u2019m not out to teach anyone *%&! unless they ask me to do so.<\/p>\n
It means look and listen around you and learn from what you see and hear.\u00a0 Make it a point to do this at all times.\u00a0 With any luck, it will be become second nature and you won\u2019t have to consciously strive for it.\u00a0 It will pay off in the long run, every time.<\/p>\n
For example, pay attention to your elders.\u00a0 I am not implying \u201cobey your elders,\u201d you have your own decisions to make (ultimately right or wrong) and learn from.\u00a0 But, seek out your elders and you will find the ones that have certain knowledge of topics that interest you and you may find that you become fascinated with this person\u2019s conversation.\u00a0 Now, when I say \u201delders\u201d it can be anyone.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t have to be someone in your family or a friend.\u00a0 It can be someone at your job site, someone in the community or even a complete stranger.<\/p>\n
Never read the book by the cover when it comes to who you can L\/L\/L from.\u00a0\u00a0 If you don\u2019t believe me, in time you will find it\u2019s true.\u00a0 There are no limiting factors when it comes to this.\u00a0 It is possible that you have something to learn from someone regardless of that person\u2019s financial, educational, geographical (and on and on) status.\u00a0 Some things you learn will be complex.\u00a0 Other things will be simple, and those are best things to learn.\u00a0 There\u2019s nothing like learning something so simple that you ask yourself why you didn\u2019t already know it yourself.\u00a0 Those are the things that you take and run with the rest of your life.\u00a0 Those are the life lessons which may some day come back to you and pull you through.<\/p>\n
The odd thing is, in the end you may indeed forget the specific thing(s) that you learned from a certain person; at times that person may have taught you something without even knowing that they did so.\u00a0 But, you will remember that this person did teach you something profound.\u00a0 In my book, that\u2019s just as fulfilling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
