Bailout

Well, well, well – lookie what we have here.  The American people were against the bailout but it was passed anyway.  I e-mailed my senators and congressman beforehand declaring that they would not have my vote in the future should they vote Yes.  Both senators and the congressman voted Yes, shame – I liked them all and they all got my vote in the past.  My congressman was up for re-election this past election and I held up my end of the bargain, he did not receive my vote.  Unfortunately a great majority of those who voted in the election voted for him.  Man,  do people have short memories!  And guess what?  The politicos are not holding up their end of the bargain.  As of today, there is no oversight on this bailout.  Also, they are now talking about bailing out institutions other than banking, for example GM and Ford.  Further, banks are still not lending like they are supposed to – they are hoarding – even though the purpose of this bill was to get that going again!  And what about these “rescued” firms throwing their “little” parties at our expense.  Come on, people, look at what is being done to you!
