Should a vote come up to bailout GM, Ford and Chrysler I request that you vote against it.
Even if they were to receive a bailout, the chance of it making any improvement is slim to none. More money will be requested down the line when nothing improves and it will be yet another money pit with no oversight like the 700B bailout of Wall Street that you voted for (which as we all know has accomplished nothing with the exception of bailing out the execs on Wall Street, i.e. Paulson’s buddies). GM, Ford and Chrysler have had THREE DECADES to make the necessary changes to improve their products so that Americans will buy them. The current economy is NOT the root of their problem – it is only the icing on the cake. They have ignored the writing on the wall for THIRTY YEARS. And now they want us to bail them out. Their egos and mismanagement have lead to their own downfall. Capitalism should be allowed to take its course; we should all reap the rewards of our hard work and pay the price of our mistakes.
