Toyota – The New GM

Once again we all see what giant egos and greed can do.  Toyota today halted the sale and production of eight of its cars, after recalling 2.3 million a week or so ago, for gas pedal problems.  At first it tried to deny problems with its accelerator pedals, pushing the blame off on “faulty floor mat installation” or the like.  Talk about egg on your face.  Really, you should have just owned up to the problem from the beginning instead of weaving this web, Mr. Toyoda.  And the main cause of this whole issue, in my humble opinion, is that they put QA on the back burner and just focused on taking over GM as the world’s #1 automaker.  I was almost spot on with what GM should have done long before their problems with bailouts and bankruptcies, but instead chose to do after they wasted away into virtual nothingness (and I posted it all in an earlier blog if you think I’m just blowing smoke).  So, I’m thinking that I am probably not too far off here either.
